Super Persona IV: Guilty Gear/BlazBlue HD Golden Remix
Now I know I’ve never really discussed anything about Persona or the Shin Megami Tensei games in previous articles especially since I’ve only recently played my first Persona game, P3P[hell, the only thing I’ve ever really mentioned by Atlus in the entirety of this site’s history was Catherine], but I am an avid player of games like BlazBlue. [Albeit I’m not very good at them, I play them nonetheless]. Well earlier today, Atlus announced two new games in the works.
The first is that Aksys, the makers of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, are making a new fighting game based on the Persona universe. The game is currently set for a Spring release in Japanese arcades in Spring 2012 and that following Summer for Xbox 360 and PS3. The game, Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena features characters from Persona 4 and Persona 3 [P3’s Aigis is shown as a playable character, but no one else from the same game has been shown yet.] and has a story taking place two months after Persona 4’s events.Another major announcement was that Persona 4 will be getting a port to the Playstation Vita, titled Persona 4 The Golden. However, unlike Persona 3’s port to the PSP, P3P which took away the use of animated cutscenes and character sprites outside of the dungeon areas, Persona 4’s port is a near perfect, if not completely perfect, port of the game, as well as several new extras…including:
- A new character
- 50% more voice acting that the original PS2 version
- Wireless connection while in dungeons for support (so possible in game multiplayer)
- New OP animation and music
- New cut-scenes
The tail end of the article where all of this was mentioned [Famitsu Magizine], they did teased some bit of info about Persona 5, saying that the preperations for the development have been complete, meaning that the game is still “on the way”. So it is possible that with Catherine now released in Japan and the US, the Persona 2 Port to be released in the fall, Atlus will have no other games to make other than Persona 5…too bad that it probably won’t be for another whole year at least.
